Why I'm building this.
I've been tracking net worth in spreadsheets since high school. That's twelve years of monthly updates, dozens of forks, every rebuild teaching me one more thing the last version got wrong.
Five years in the Marine Corps, and the years since flying drones for Boeing, taught me what disciplined systems look like — and how brittle a personal finance system gets the moment you add a business, a rental LLC, or a trust. My wife and I run a short-term rental business and a few service entities. The day I added the second legal entity, every tracker I'd ever used became useless.
The market is full of dashboards. Monarch is pretty. Kubera is dense. Copilot is well-designed. Empower is a sales funnel pretending to be a tracker. None of them doanything. They show you the number. You're still on your own to figure out what to do with it.
Tessera is what I want: a tracker that proposes specific moves with the math attached, treats my LLC as a first-class citizen, and shows its reasoning every single time.
Not a robo-advisor. Not a chatbot. A balance sheet that reads itself and tells you what changed — and what it would do if it were you. You stay the decision-maker. The math is finally visible.
I'm building it because no one else is building it the way I need it. If that resonates, get on the list. Early access is small on purpose.
